Nanjing police dog research institute of the Ministry of Public Security was founded in 1957. It is locate in south of Nanjing, covering 155000 square meters. there has very convenient transportation and communication. It is the sole special department for the scientific research on the specialized police dog technology, and is the center for the police dog technological information center in China.

Its main focuses on scientific research on teaching, training,nutrition research, the prevention and cure of the diseases and exchange of related information and so on. It also managed the police dog technology work, joins in the investigating a lot of important cases, and adminitering the police dog techniques work in Nanjing part (including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Anhui, Shandong, Fujian). The Ministry of Public Security Information Center of police dog Techniques and The Editorial Department of <<POLICE DOG>> Magazine are established in the institute. The information Center of police dog Techniques of the Ministry of Public Security is incollecting and dealing with the information from all over the world about police dog technology, and inviting the experts from other parts of China or other countries. Up to now, The Nanjing police dog research institute of the Ministry of Public Security has built a technological experiment building, an international standard training field, a dog feeding factory, a library and has prepared to build a police dog imitated training bui1ding and an international police dog conference and training center in the institute, there are several tens of senior and intermediate police dog technological experts. Some of them enjoy the especial subsidy from the Ministry of Public Security or The state department.
